Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How much Forever Lap Sealant do I need for my roof fixtures?

A: Actual usage can vary based on the size and condition of your fixtures, but here is a quick estimator to help you calculate your order.

Small Items (Plan for 1 Tube Each):

  • Attic vents & plumbing vents
  • Small radio antennas
  • Solar panel brackets (per bracket)
  • Ladder bases

Medium Items (Plan for 2 to 3 Tubes Each):

  • Standard roof vents
  • Refrigerator vent bases
  • Large satellite dishes

Large Items & Caps (Plan for 3 to 5 Tubes Each):

  • Skylights: 3 – 5 tubes each
  • Front & Rear Seam Caps: 3 – 4 tubes per cap (6–8 tubes total to do both)

Pro-Tip: Always grab 1 or 2 extra tubes just in case you want to apply a thicker protective bead or have extra on hand for unexpected touch-ups!

Q: How much Forever RV Coat or Forever RV Coat 2.5 do I need for my roof?

A: Our premium high-build polymer coatings cover 50 square feet per gallon.

To find your total square footage, multiply the length of your RV by its width (most standard rigs are about 8.5 feet wide). Here is a quick cheat sheet based on standard RV lengths to help you order the right amount:

20-Foot RV (Approx. 170 sq. ft.) = 3.5 to 4 Gallons

25-Foot RV (Approx. 212 sq. ft.) = 4.5 to 5 Gallons

30-Foot RV (Approx. 255 sq. ft.) = 5 to 5.5 Gallons

35-Foot RV (Approx. 297 sq. ft.) = 6 Gallons

40-Foot RV (Approx. 340 sq. ft.) = 7 Gallons

Pro-Tip: If your roof calculation lands right on the line, we always recommend ordering an extra half-gallon or gallon. It’s always better to have a little extra to roll on a nice, thick protective layer around your high-stress areas like vents and seams than to run short mid-project!

Q: What is the shipping time for my order?

A: We take pride in quality over mass production. We are a specialized, small-batch operation producing premium products under incredibly high demand. Because we mix and quality-check everything in-house to ensure it is perfect for your rig, our typical shipping window is 1.5 to 2.5 weeks.

During peak seasons, high-demand times can extend these estimates for certain products.

How to track your order (Save a phone call!):

Instant Confirmation: You will receive an automatic email receipt the second your order is placed.

Tracking Number: As soon as your batch is packed and labeled, an automatic tracking link will be sent straight to your email so you can watch its progress transit to your door.

Need a quick update? If you are planning a tight repair schedule and need a status check, please text us or drop a message through our Contact page with your order number instead of calling—this allows us to keep our hands on the equipment making your product!

Q: Will Forever RV Coat work on my specific roof type?

A: Yes! Forever RV Coat works perfectly on almost all roof types, but certain specialized or brand-new membranes require specific preparation to ensure a permanent bond.

Here is the breakdown of additional prep steps required based on your roof type:

TPO Membranes (Aged vs. New): * Aged TPO: If your TPO roof is older/weathered, no scuffing is needed! Just clean it thoroughly.

New TPO / Commercial TPO: If the membrane is brand new, it requires scuffing the entire surface and a quick wipe-down with a cloth dampened with acetone (do not saturate the membrane).

EPDM Membranes: For standard rubber EPDM roofs, we highly recommend using our Extreme Primer first. One gallon of  Extreme Primer covers almost all roof sizes up to 50 feet.

Alternative Option: You can bypass the separate primer step completely by using our Forever RV Coat 2.5, which has the premium primer formula already built directly into the coating!

RV PVC Membranes (Crucial Note): NEVER wipe an RV PVC roof down with acetone—it can melt the membrane! Instead, lightly scuff the roof around all base penetrations and the side radiuses (where the roof rolls over the edge). Clean these scuffed areas using denatured alcohol instead of acetone.

Pro-Tip: Proper surface preparation is the single most important step for a permanent roof. Taking the extra time to scuff new membranes or apply the correct primer ensures the coating locks down flat and never lifts.
